Drive · safety
Safety,
for drivers.
What we provide, what we don't, and what to do if something happens. The legally authoritative version of this content is in the Safety and Insurance Disclosure.
If you're in immediate danger, call 000
Triple-zero takes priority over every safety feature in the OZ Driver app. The in-app shortcut places a normal phone call from your device — we do not bridge or relay it.
In-app SOS
One-tap SOS alerts our staffed support team in Perth. We may contact you, contact the rider, contact your trusted contacts, or contact emergency services. SOS is staffed but not equivalent to triple-zero — it's a support tool, not an emergency service.
Identity-verified riders
Every rider account is created with mobile-number verification. Repeat offenders against the Acceptable Use Policy can be permanently banned. We co-operate with WA Police on serious complaints.
In-Vehicle recordings
If your Vehicle is equipped with a recording device (including any taxi camera required by regulation), you are responsible for compliance with the Surveillance Devices Act 1998 (WA). Display the required notice in the Vehicle. We retrieve recordings only in connection with an investigation, dispute, or law-enforcement request.
Protocol
After an incident
- 1. Attend to safety. Provide assistance, secure the scene, move out of traffic if possible.
- 2. Call 000 if any person is injured or any vehicle is not driveable.
- 3. Exchange details with the other party. Take photographs.
- 4. Report to OZ Ride within 24 hours via the in-app report tool or support@oz-ride.com.
- 5. Notify your insurer. Your insurance is yours; we are not your insurer.
- 6. Report to WA Police where required by law.
Limits
What we don't insure
OZ Ride is not an insurer. We don't cover vehicle damage, personal injury, lost income while suspended or off-line, or passenger property. Your insurance has to. Marketing copy that mentions "support", "safety", or "trust" describes platform capabilities — it does not create insurance cover or any indemnity beyond what the Driver Service Agreement spells out (clauses 15-16).
