08 — Cookie Policy
Effective Date: 1 May 2026
Application: Visitors to the OZ Ride Website at oz-ride.com and any successor domain operated by OZ Ride. The OOHAi Media advertiser-facing website at oohai.com.au is covered by an equivalent statement linked from that site's footer.
Defined terms: Capitalised terms not defined in this document have the meaning given in 00 — Definitions.
This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies the Website uses, what they are for, who places them, and how you can control them. It supplements the Privacy Policy. To the extent the Privacy Policy is more general, this Policy is more specific in respect of cookies.
This Policy does not apply to the Driver App, the Rider App, the Player Tablet, or the Advertiser Portal. Those surfaces use device-level identifiers and OS-provided notification tokens for the operational purposes described in the Privacy Policy.
1. What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device when you visit. The browser sends the cookie back to the website on subsequent requests, allowing the website to remember things like your preferences, that you are signed in, or that you have already dismissed a notice. Similar technologies — local storage, session storage, server-set tokens — perform comparable functions and are treated equivalently in this Policy.
2. Categories of cookies we use
The Website uses cookies in four categories.
2.1 Strictly necessary
These cookies are required for the Website to function. You cannot decline them in the consent banner; without them, the Website would not work. Examples:
| Cookie | Purpose | Set by | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
__Host-session | Session identifier for any signed-in interaction (such as the press kit gated download) | OZ Ride | Session |
csrf | CSRF token for form submissions | OZ Ride | Session |
consent | Records your consent choices | OZ Ride | 12 months |
lang | Records your selected language preference | OZ Ride | 12 months |
2.2 Performance
Performance cookies allow us to measure how the Website is used in aggregate, so that we can improve it.
| Cookie | Purpose | Set by | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
_va | Vercel Web Analytics page-view counter (privacy-respecting, no third-party fingerprinting) | Vercel Inc | 30 days |
_lcid | Lighthouse-CI uplift sampling (RUM) | Vercel Inc | 30 days |
We use a privacy-respecting analytics tool that does not link your visit to other identities you may have on the open web. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar cross-site trackers on this Website.
2.3 Functional
Functional cookies remember choices you make to improve subsequent visits.
| Cookie | Purpose | Set by | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
theme | Records your light/dark theme choice | OZ Ride | 12 months |
region | Records your region selection (Perth metro vs surrounds) | OZ Ride | 12 months |
2.4 Marketing
Marketing cookies measure the effectiveness of campaigns that bring visitors to the Website.
| Cookie | Purpose | Set by | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
utm_* (URL parameter, not a cookie) | Records the referring campaign for the duration of the session | OZ Ride | Session only |
referrer | Records the referring source for attribution | OZ Ride | 30 days |
Where the marketing source is itself a third-party advertising network, the network may set its own cookies on your device. We disable third-party advertising-network cookies by default and only enable them where you provide consent in the consent banner.
3. Your choices
When you first visit the Website you will see a consent banner. You may:
- accept all categories;
- accept only strictly-necessary;
- customise your choices in detail.
You can change your choices at any time via the "Cookies" link in the Website footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing that occurred before withdrawal.
4. Do Not Track
We honour the "Sec-GPC" Global Privacy Control header and the legacy "DNT" Do Not Track header by withholding any non-strictly-necessary cookies and treating the visit as if you had declined performance, functional, and marketing categories.
5. Browser controls
You can manage and delete cookies through your browser's settings. Steps differ between browsers; see your browser's help for details. Disabling strictly-necessary cookies will prevent the Website from working as intended.
6. Third-party cookies and embeds
We do not embed third-party social-media widgets that automatically set cookies. Where we link to a third-party service (for example, a Calendly demo-booking page in the Advertiser flow), the third party's cookies are governed by that third party's policy and are set only after you click through.
7. Server logs
In addition to cookies, our hosting provider (Vercel) writes server logs that record your IP address, user agent, requested URL, and response code. Server logs are retained for security and operational purposes for 90 days and are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
8. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time, including when cookies are added, removed, or have their purpose changed. The Effective Date at the head of this document reflects the date of the most recent material update.
9. Contact
For any cookie-related question, contact privacy@oz-ride.com.
