Safety, with
the limits
called out.

Every feature is described alongside what it does and doesn't do. The legally authoritative version is in the Safety and Insurance Disclosure.

Emergency

If you're in immediate danger, call 000.

Triple-zero is the emergency-services number in Australia. It takes priority over every safety feature in the OZ Ride app. The in-app shortcut places a normal phone call from your device — we do not bridge or relay it.

In-app SOS

Tap SOS to alert our staffed Perth support team. We may contact you, contact the driver, contact your trusted contacts, contact emergency services, or take other reasonable steps. SOS is a support tool — not a substitute for triple-zero.

Trip share

Share a live link to your trip with anyone. The link expires up to 60 minutes after the trip ends or whenever you revoke it — whichever is sooner. The 60-minute extension is so the recipient can confirm a safe drop-off.

Trusted contacts (opt-in)

Nominate contacts to receive safety notifications. Each contact must reply YES to a confirmation SMS before they receive any further messages. They can reply STOP at any time.

Route deviation logging

Significant unexplained deviations are recorded for your post-trip review and made available to support during investigations. Route-deviation alerts are not pushed to you in real time — they're an investigation aid.

In-Vehicle recordings

If your vehicle is equipped with a recording device (including any taxi camera required by regulation), the driver is responsible for compliance with the Surveillance Devices Act 1998 (WA). A notice should be displayed in the vehicle. Recordings are retrieved only for an investigation, dispute, or law-enforcement request.

Phone calls to support

Calls to +61 468 155 643 are recorded for support, training, and quality. Disclosure is at the start of the call. You may at any time request transfer to a human operator and that the recording be paused.

Limits

What we do not provide

OZ Ride is not an emergency service and not an insurer. The safety features above are tools to increase the means by which you and we can respond to a safety concern. They are not guarantees.

Marketing copy about "safety", "support", or "trust" describes platform capabilities — it does not create insurance cover or any indemnity beyond what the Rider Terms of Service spells out (clauses 10–11).
